Usage PolicyToday I went googling for my photography and the results were quite surprising. I found out that many folks use my pictures in the blogs. Having this in mind, I would like to outline some rules of thumb, or usage policy:
1) Do NOT modify my pictures. By modifying I understand
- cropping (example of cropped deviation image is [link])
- photoshopping (color change, b\w and other filters etc)
- making wallpapers using my photos
- making any sort of skins, layouts, userbars, avatars, using my stuff
2) Always give links to original deviations:
Examples: [link] or [link]
I've decided not to put URL of my site onto the deviations recently (instead, I use some sort of logo image with my name), so providing the links is a must now.
3) Always notify me (by note, email or ICQ) of your intention to post my artwork somewhere. I can see that many LiveInternet.RU folks post my stuff in their albums without any notifications! Don't do that!
4) What I normally allow is:
- traditional works based on my stuff (paintings, drawings etc)
Yes, I know that this policy is very moderate. Hopefully this would be enough. Of course, please report me any case of ripping of my works, so I could make some measures to get rid of such guys.
