A very uncommon work for me, because of no real people on the picture, just graffiti. Both of them are located in Pripyat, a small town just 1 mile away from Chernobyl nuclear plant that exploded 22 years ago, in 1986. Nowadays Pripyat is a ghost-town, visited mostly by tourists (especially fans of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R" game) and strange guys like me. All such trips are under control of the government, you have to have a special permit for accessing the area of the biggest nuclear catastrophe of all times. The impression from that trip will never fade in my mind.
Several years ago an unknown artist, under impression of the atmosphere of this town, left the series of graffiti on the walls. These two depict children, a boy and a girl. A girl tries to reach the elevator button which is sooo high for her, a boy just sits calmly and probably thinks about how lonely he is in this totally abandoned place.
I'm telling you: you can almost hear the children's voices in this town, the voices of those who used to live here.
My humble work was just to combine these two artworks together.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me
